If a child has a strong enough reason to do something, he/she will be much more likely to actually go through with it.
The key to getting a child to discipline him-,herself more is to make sure that the child actually sees some kind of value in doing so. This is where our incentive program comes in.
Children are not very good when it comes to thinking about future ramifications of their actions. Most children don't do something mainly because of how it might affect them two or thee or five years from now. That's why they need a lot of guidance.
A child WILL, however, exhibit (and use) a much higher than usual level of self control, if there is a really good reason to do so. Just think back to the last time your child was on his or her "best behavior" because he or she wanted that immediate reward (like behaving good at the grocery store so you can get that candy you wanted, or like behaving well all week so you can go to the party on Saturday).

We have a multi tiered system (and, from what we know, we are the only school in the Fresno Clovis area that has this elaborate of an incentive system) to make sure that we keep your child motivated to try harder and change his/her habits.
